Dick Baddour Needs to Step Up Quickly

As someone who was saddened when Mack Brown left for Texas, I certainly hope that the Tar Heels can avoid another pigskin let down. I think with the progress that the program has made we need to move aggressively to tie Davis's future to the future of the program. On Sports Talk in Knoxville today, Leach from Texas Tech and Davis have been at the top of many prognosticator's lips. Unfortunately, both UT and Auburn are flush with cash from a recently signed SEC TV deal and can afford to pay from $3.5-4.25 million/year on a new coach (Davis makes a little more than $2 million). That's Roy Williams money and I don't know if we can come up with as attractive a package financially. On the flip side, the competition, the stress, and the media, are all a little less intense in the ACC--and Chapel Thrill, will always be Chapel Thrill.
